Design at C-ZONE is hands-on: sketches, photos, samples and the daily back-and-forth with the people who build our frames. Every model is drawn front and temple, then sampled, puzzled over and sketched again.
Sub-collections with an ideaThe front and temples are cut and formed from Japanese stainless steel. Strong enough for thin profiles, light enough to forget, and beautiful to finish in fine detail such as etched line work.
Rims up to 1.4 mm thickColour is applied by electroplating, layer over layer. That is where the depth comes from: platings that shift with the light rather than a single flat tone.
Layered platingsHand-painted models get a Berlac coating: an ultra-hard epoxy layer over the paint that protects the colour for years of daily wear.
Ultra-hard epoxy layerAcetate works: it expands and shrinks. Our compressed acetate rests sixty days in the drying chamber, not forty. Only then may it be mounted onto the metal, so thin parts keep their shape and shine.
60 days, not 40Adjustable nose pads, acetate temple tips and, where the design asks for it, flex hinges that adapt to broader heads. Rob's founding rule decides what leaves the warehouse: however beautiful a frame is, above all it has to be a joy to wear.
